Importing from Blender to Keyshot now Tiny

I have a scene set in Blender where the object is 7.5 inches tall. I have exported it as an OBJ at a scale of 1. but when I import it into Keyshot, it comes in at .4 inches tall. Both unit systems are set to inch, so why does it do that. I have taken to exporting my object at 38.65 scale cause that’s matched the closest to the 7.5 at the end. Am I doing something wrong?

I think OBJ files don’t include any unit information and I would suggest using FBX between software. The FBX format can contain a lot more information than an OBJ file. If you want to be really hip you can use USD which I think will replace FBX as exchange format over time.

Besides the fact I like FBX better I don’t really see a reason why it would be suddenly .4 inches but as Dutch guy I’m not really fan of imperial system anyway so I basically use meters anywhere. Also since a lot of software uses it as default units on export.

Yeah, as Oscar stated, OBJ’s don’t have scale data embedded in them, but FBX do. But even better is if you just use the Blender to Keyshot bridge, where hierarchy and scale automatically get exported into Keyshot and it saves your form having to save out a file from Blender into Keyshot. As long as you don’t close Blender or Keyshot, you can also update the model for a semi-live link experience.
